The CYPHER @ TU Dance in St. Paul, MN 2/25/12

This past weekend Marjani brought The Cypher to TU Dance in St. Paul, MN and we rocked it!  TU Dance, a non-profit professional dance organization, founded and created by Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands; an incredible duet shaking up the dance world in Minnesota and beyond.  It's a fantastic space, open, positive, re-affirming, and professional.

With the legwork of performer Alanna Morris, Abdo Sayegh, and Julie Sand, we were able to provide a captivating experience for TU Dance pre-professionals, company members, and visitors varying in age, dance background, even a few who were new TU Dance Open Classes/Workshops!!!
I've experienced TU Dance to be on of the few but necessary organizations offering a powerful mix of quality and access.  Directly in alignment with our vision for social justice, cultural organizing, and artistic expression here at LOVE|FORTÉ A COLLECTIVE!
If YOU attended The Cypher this past weekend at TU Dance, leave us a note and Tell Us About Your Experience....leave a comment on this blog, our facebook page, or email us!!!  Check out the amazing blog recap of Kenna Wright...read about her experience with The Cypher @ http://voiceofculturedance.com/camara/?p=323

"Ms. Forte brought me to a new place of working in tandem.  Every single thing that she did tugged at the strings that make me dance.  For instance: we had to have two people in the Cypher, and you could jump in when you saw someone doing some movement that you wanted to get a piece of.  I LOVE DOING THAT!...Marjani Forte has me on that NEW shit, that CYPHER.....It makes me excited to think about the possibilities and permutations of what can occurr in the Cypher."- Kenna Cottman/Kenna.Camara: The Cypher is fed by RISK

What Our Team is Saying...

"Working with LOVE|FORTÉ A COLLECTIVE has been a blessing.  Instead of working from an egotistical point of view, Nia and Marjani facilitate work that pushes the boundaries of what dance is, what it looks like, and how dance interacts with our lives.  It's truly a collective between the audience, performers, students, and artists involved." (Autumn Scoggan, Administrative Assistant).

"Working with LOVE|FORTÉ is a gift. I am honored to share in their vision to produce powerfully authentic and heartfelt work. They provide enrichment to our community, while inspiring artists and audiences to think outside of the box.  LOVE|FORTÉ is a new and necessary force to watch for.” (Dawn Robinson, Development Consultant).
